Part #1 Matthew 1-2 (Finding The Gospels in The Weekly Torah Portions)
Imagine reading the Gospel through the eyes of the 1st Century Jewish people. If we could, what new things would we see? What new discoveries would we find? In this series we’ll uncover the Hebraic background of the Gospels and reveal the Foundation of Torah (1st 5 Books of the Bible) on which the Gospels are built. The 5 Books of the Torah are traditionally divided into 54 year long Portions. Each of the 54 weekly Torah Portion gets its name from one of the first unique words in that week’s Hebrew text. The 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John along with Acts) have also been divided into 54 weekly readings which corresponds to the 54 weekly readings of the 5 Books of Torah. This enables us to follow an organized “Walk Through the Gospels” in a week by week format.
