While self-assured, “Rosetta”-type brokers on LinkedIn brag about saving money for large groups via direct contracts and pre-agreed surgical pricing, silently, more of their corporate customers are opting out of such “self-funding” deals to free themselves of any risk at all, by replacing conventional health insurance with what’s called “Sharing”.

Instead of suffering a network that limits which doctors an employee can choose for his or her sickness or accident, CEOs in the above scenario are using something Trump expanded called “ICHRA,” to insert Sharing that uses cash prices, thus escaping networks. And, Sharing uses a nonprofit model that has less incentive (compared to the insurance profit
motive) to deny claims - or in Sharing parlance, “Needs requests”. Patients needing third party help for major medical problems just have a better experience using Sharing plans.

Millions of families already have upgraded from ObamaCare to Sharing over the past
decade due to outrageous insurance premiums charged to mostly self-employed families and small business owners. The dynamic of leaving insurance for sharing parallels the departure of bank customers for a nearby credit union. Indeed, the imposing of Sharing competition on insurance represents great news – amid an endless parade of negative news from one of the most disliked and distrusted industries, conventional insurance.

Meanwhile, insurance companies continue to use the political system to try to stave off this unwanted competition.

One of the leaders of the Sharing movement, Nathan Udy, with a background as a Third
Party Administrator and Broker, saw the opportunity in health payments and started Zion HealthShare. FreedomHub regulars know that Zion is one of the sharing vendors that the MPowering Benefits brokerage of cohost Frohman uses to protect families and biz owners
from catastrophic, bankrupting health expenses. [See “MPB” at: https://your-mp.com/your-marketplace to sign up – and support Health Freedom in the process!]

Zion is growing because licensed insurance agents see it as one of the best Sharing
vendors to work with when upgrading their family and CEO clients from ObamaCare. These agents combine Sharing with subscription primary care or Health Savings Accounts - to improve the experience at the beginning of health episodes, and help patients learn how to
shop for value (which also translates into more personal care).

Does Sharing have a bright future in the health payments marketplace? With the MAHA
movement quickly growing and people angrier than ever over Big Insurance’s misbehavior, we’re pretty sure the answer is YES!
