(Acts 2:1) ‘WHEN THE DAY OF PENTECOST WAS FULLY COME!’ What did the writer mean by saying: ‘The Day of Pentecost was Fully Come?’ The Greek word for Pentecost used in the text is: (Pentékosté’), Phonically: (Penteekostees), Meaning: ’50 Days’. Therefore, the text is simply stating that The Church was Fulfilling The Commandment of (Leviticus 23:15-16), where we are Commanded to ‘Count Off 49 Days Out Loud, beginning at The Feast of First Fruits. After the 49 Days are completed, and the 50th Day Has Fully Come To Completion, it is the appointed time of the Festival of Shavuot/ Pentecost. Therefore, in English, Greek and Hebrew, Acts 2:1 makes 'The Audible Count' explicit by saying: ‘WHEN THE DAY OF THE ‘FIFTIETH DAY OF COUNTING’ WAS COMPLETED.’, simply declaring to ‘The Church’, that The Last Omer Had Been Counted! The Feast of Pentecost draws a line of connection between (Exodus 19-24) and (Acts 2). The Festival unifies ‘The Giving of The Torah at Sinai’, with ‘The Giving of The Spirit in Jerusalem. The 2 events are forever linked together. This link creates a theological implication for us believers. Biblically, The Torah and The Holy Spirit are of the same essence seeing that it was ‘The Holy Spirit’ which had written ‘The Torah’. Jeremiah the prophet foresaw this when God declared through him: (Jeremiah 31:31, 33) "Behold, I will make a New Covenant… I will put ‘MY TORAH’ within them and on their heart I will write it, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Ezekiel the prophet also foretold by the Spirit of God, what the Indwelling of ‘The Holy Spirit’ would cause 'The People of God' to do: (Ezekiel 36:27) "I will put ‘MY SPIRIT’ within you and ‘CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES’, AND YOU WILL BE CAREFUL TO ‘OBSERVE MY ORDINANCES’. According to these Prophets, ‘The Holy Spirit’ was given in order to ‘Place The Torah Within The Believer’s Heart’, and have The Spiritual Power to obey His Torah! If that is true, and it is, then ‘The Spirit’ within us and ‘The Torah of God’ MUST AGREE! It can then be SCRIPTURALLY UNDERSTOOD that the purpose for the 'Presence of The Holy Spirit' in the lives of Believers, is to ‘Enable Us To Walk in The Statutes, and to Observe The Ordinances of Torah. Therefore, Biblically, ‘The Spirit’ and ‘The Torah’ ARE NOT, God forbid, OPPOSED TO EACH OTHER! They are both Witnessed on 2 Mountains: (Sinai and Moriah)...
